Tammy McLeod and The Flinn Foundation

Tammy McLeod, Flinn Foundation CEO is holds a Ph.D. in sustainability studies and as a certified economic developer, she earned her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder.A broadly accomplished private-sector executive and community leader, Tammy McLeod joined the Flinn Foundation in October 2017 as CEO. Tammy’s commitment to Arizona nonprofit organizations has included numerous board appointments, currently including the Arizona Community Foundation; the Desert Botanical Garden (president); and Expect More Arizona (immediate past chair).  

Among many honors for her work to foster strong organizational cultures and a vibrant broader community, Tammy has earned the Athena Award from the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce, the Most Influential Women in Business award from AZ Business, two American Business Awards, and Mom of the Year from Valle del Sol.

The Flinn Foundation is a privately endowed, philanthropic grantmaking organization established in 1965 by Dr. Robert S. Flinn, a prominent cardiologist, and his wife, Irene. Its mission is to improve the quality of life in Arizona to benefit future generations.  To achieve this mission, the Foundation aims to advance the state’s bioscience sector, provide a top-notch education to high-achieving students at an Arizona public university, boost the fiscal and creative capacity of the state’s arts and culture organizations, and develop future state-level civic leaders.
