Dr. Pei-Yu "Sharon" Chen is the Chair of the Department of Information Systems and Red Avenue Foundation Professor at Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business, as well as the co-director of ASU’s Center for AI and Data Analytics for Business and Society. A PhD graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Chen is a leading scholar of “mindful AI,” focusing on how organizations can leverage artificial intelligence and data analytics to create value while responsibly managing issues such as bias, privacy, welfare, and trust. Her research appears in top journals such as Management Science, MIS Quarterly, and Information Systems Research. Under her leadership, W. P. Carey has launched groundbreaking academic programs—including the Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence in Business and the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence in Business, the first graduate AI degree offered by a U.S. business school—to prepare students to integrate AI.
