Life-saving Sniffs
Ivey, a 2-year-old German shepherd, is learning how to sniff out cancer at the Penn Vet Working Dog Center. It’s all part of a wider effort to develop an electronic nose capable of detecting disease. “If we can help recognize this cancer early, we will save lives. And we just have to get the machines as good as the dogs,” says the Center’s director, Cindy Otto, in an interview with “Good Morning America.” (Video) |
