An 8-week-old black Labrador retriever named Casey is the 100th puppy to enter the Penn Vet Working Dog Center training program, founded seven years ago with seven puppies. “He looks like he’s going to be a great pup,” says training director Annemarie DeAngelo. “His play drive is high. He’s social. He’s not afraid of things he wants to try.” And this is a reminder to SAVE THE DATE for our club's Working Dog Center event on Saturday, November 16th. Of the 100 dogs trained, the Phoenix Fire Department now has 7. We will meet some of them at the event and enjoy learning more about the amazing work of the Center and the dogs trained for the Phoenix Fire Department. These are dogs not only used to help in Phoenix but are dispatched to disasters around the country. It will be a wonderful family-friendly event. |
